Mother's Day Classic
The Mother's Day Classic is Australia's largest annual fun run/walk that raises money for breast cancer research. The event takes place in major capital cites and regional locations and has raised $5.7 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation's research programs since 1998.
Funds raised through the annual event have contributed to important research which has resulted in a gradually improving survival rate of the one in nine women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer by the age of 85.
Walk or Run to raise funds for breast cancer research
On Sunday 9 May 2010, more than 90,000 people are expected to participate in events in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Geelong, Gold Coast, Hobart, Melbourne, Parramatta, Perth, Sydney and regional locations across Australia.
ME Bank is very proud to join in the fight against breast cancer with many staff participating in the walk, run or volunteering on the day.
Event participants are encouraged to ask friends, family and colleagues to support their involvement in the walk or run. Individual fundraising is a great way of assisting in raising funds for this important cause and involving others in the event.
Over the last two years, ME Bank has donated more than $55,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on behalf of participants who entered the Go the extra step with ME Bank campaign in Melbourne.
